My real HCG came in today, so I started sublingual HCG! Yay! Now, I can compare real HCG vs. homeopathic HCG and see if there is a difference in my body, so stay tuned!

Starting Weight: 201.6

Today’s Weight: 177

Overnight Gain/Loss: -.8 (yay!)

REAL HCG: 133 IU 2x daily under the tongue (Switched over from homeopathic starting today!)

I was busy today, so I threw together my wonderful cheesy mock apple pie YET AGAIN. LOL. I think this is day number 4 that I have been eating this stuff for at least one meal. With a combination of needing to go to the store and just wanting to eat this for a meal, I must be plain crazy! lol

Ground Beef, Onions, Miracle Noodles, and Bragg's Liquid Aminos

Ground Beef, Onions, Miracle Noodles, and Bragg's Liquid Aminos

I finally went to the store this afternoon, so I ate a normal meal! I decided to try out my first meal with Miracle Noodles. They are made of fiber and contain no calories. They are also very filling. Many HCG dieters seem to use them. This was my first try. I cooked chopped onions in 1/2 cup of chicken broth. Then, I added 100 grams of 96% lean ground beef, 1/2 Tablespoon of minced garlic, and 2 Tbl. of Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. After rinsing and drying my miracle noodles, I added them to the mixture along with another 2 Tbl. of Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. Miracle Noodles do not really need to be cooked, so I simply flipped them around in the beef and onion mixture for 1-2 minutes. I have to say that they were actually pretty good! It’s a different texture than a regular noodle and a little gel-like, but I could definitely get used to them! I didn’t even eat my bread or fruit for dinner because I was very full! They did a wonderful job of picking up the flavor of the Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. Next time, I will post a recipe for this gem of an item!

Here’s my breakdown for the day-

113 grams of Daisy 2% cottage cheese (90 calories)

I CANNOT believe it! I have no idea how I managed to lose such a big number today! I just lost a pound yesterday, so I wasn’t expecting much today. I’m definitely going  to keep taking 4 tablespoons of coconut oil per day in the yummy chocolate bark. By the way, I eat it before 2pm. I’m not sure if that is what’s making a difference or not, but I’m going to keep doing it!

Cheesy Mock Apple Pie with Breadstick

Cheesy Mock Apple Pie with Breadstick

I can’t resist the cheesy mock apple pie ! Actually, part of the reason that I chose to eat this for lunch today was because I needed to make a grocery store trip again.

Sirloin Tip Steak with Lots of Tomatoes

Sirloin Tip Steak with Lots of Tomatoes

For dinner, I ate a TON of tomatoes with my sirloin tip steak. I had a lot of calories left over, so I splurged a bit… well, if you consider 288 calories splurging! LOL. I did eat a breadstick, but I forgot to include it in the above picture.

I posted two videos on YouTube today. I had to divide it into two parts because it was too long.

Part Two Below:

I have been walking around on a cloud today. I made it to the 170′s, and I am super excited! I dropped an entire pound overnight. Yahoo! That’s a big number for me. I’m not the fastest *HCG loser* around, so I will take those big numbers when my body allows it! I also slept really well last night. Sleep is VERY important! I can’t wait to take my measurements in 2 more days. It’s hard to resist not taking them everyday, but twice weekly is enough!

Starting Weight: 201.6

Today’s Weight: 179 (yippee! 170s!)

Overnight Gain/Loss: -1.0 (Yay!!)

HHCG: 12 drops 3 x daily

I have hit a milestone today… in more ways than one! First, I hit the 170′s. Second, I am on VLCD day 41, and I’m still going strong. I haven’t  hit a true plateau yet. I believe a plateau is when you stay at the same weight for a long time. The longest I have struggled is 3 days (day 1 and 2- small gain, 3rd day- stayed the same), but I don’t consider it a plateau. I think of it as a momentary stall in order for my body’s fat cells to shrink and release that water inside of them. You can read about that in ” Pounds and Inches “.

Grilled Chicken Salad at a Local Restaurant

Grilled Chicken Salad at a Local Restaurant

I had a meeting today at a local barbecue restaurant. This grilled chicken salad was the closest thing that I could eat. I asked for the salad without cheese or olives. It came with a few shredded carrots and bell pepper, so I removed them from my bowl. It looked like there was approximately 4-6 ounces of chicken on it. The chicken was very yummy, so I suspect that the “grilled” chicken was coated in oil to keep from sticking. I’ve read about restaurants doing that! I did not eat my salad with any dressing. I sprinkled it with salt and pepper. I have NO idea how many calories were in it, but I’m going to estimate approximately 330 calories* (chicken- 290; salad- 40) to be on the safe side.

Cheesy Mock Apple Pie with Breadstick

Cheesy Mock Apple Pie with Breadstick

For dinner, I tried to eat a little lighter on the calorie side. I chose to eat a Cheesy Mock Apple Pie with breadstick. Yum! You wouldn’t think it had cottage cheese in it!

Lunch:

Grilled Chicken (290 calories)(*estimate)

Salad (40 calories)(*estimate)

Lunch Total: 330 calories

Dinner:

113 grams of Daisy 2% cottage cheese (90 calories)

115 grams of apple (60 calories)

1 sesame breadstick (23 calories)

Dinner Total: 173 calories

GRAND TOTAL: 503 calories

Water for the day= 1 gallon

Double Batch of coconut chocolate bark : 4 Tbl. coconut oil

Happy Fourth of July!!

Starting Weight: 201.6

Today’s Weight: 180

Overnight Gain/Loss: -.2

HHCG: 12 drops 3 x daily (I think I do better on a 3x daily dose.)

Well, I didn’t lose much today, but I didn’t get my water in like I should have. I only drank 2 quarts of water yesterday. That’s not good. I can really tell the difference if I don’t get my water in! I ate a double batch of chocolate bark again. I’ve been experimenting with it. I’ve actually eaten it early in the day (before 2pm). I seem to be having some good results with it. We’ll see if it keeps happening.

Charcoal Grilled Hamburger Patty with Grilled Onions, Strawberries, and Breadstick

Charcoal Grilled Hamburger Patty with Grilled Onions, Strawberries, and Breadstick

My family grilled hamburgers on our charcoal grill, so I ate a charcoal grilled lean hamburger patty with more grilled onions, strawberries, and a breadstick. Yes, it was the same meal that I ate for lunch, but my hamburger was grilled outside. Yum!

Here’s the breakdown for the day:

Starting Weight: 201.6

Today’s Weight: 180.2

Overnight Gain/Loss: -.8 (Hooray!!)

HHCG: 18 drops 2 x daily

Yay! I finally dropped a big number. It sure beats the .2 losses the past two days. I started a new bottle of HHCG a few days ago, and I am now wondering if my previous bottle lost its potency. I was starving yesterday and became tired early on in the evening. I ate a double batch of chocolate bark , and I think it actually helps my weight loss. I ate another double batch today.

Chocolate Cottage Cheese Pancakes with Baked Apple and Wasa Cracker

Chocolate Cottage Cheese Pancakes with Baked Apple and Wasa Cracker

I attempted to make chocolate cottage cheese pancakes today. They really weren’t that bad, but they didn’t look very good. I am going to try working on the recipe a bit until I can get a nicer looking pancake. LOL. I ate them with some baked cinnamon apples and a wasa cracker.

Chuck Steak, Asparagus, Strawberries, and Breadstick

Chuck Steak, Asparagus, Strawberries, and Breadstick

For dinner, I decided to have some chuck steak. I used less calories for lunch, so I splurged a little. I marinated it in some Bragg’s Liquid Aminos, and it was good. I ate it with some grilled asparagus, a sesame breadstick, and a few strawberries.

Here’s my breakdown for the day-

Lunch:

113 grams of Daisy 2% cottage cheese (90 calories)

1 egg white (16 calories) (I broke protocol with this one. I used it to make my pancakes)

1 Tbl. Hershey’s Cocoa (10 calories)

1 Wasa Cracker (35 calories)

102 grams of apple (53 calories)

Lunch Total: 204 calories

I’m losing weight SO SLOWLY this week! I’m really not worried, but it would be nice to see some bigger losses. I AM thankful that I’m still losing, though! I’ve been VERY hungry today for some reason. I made a double batch of coconut oil chocolate bark this morning and ate it before lunch! I ate eggs for lunch, which might not have been enough to fill me up. I also started on a brand new bottle of Homeopathic HCG . It could have been any of those issues that caused me to be hungrier than usual today!

As usual, I had about 3 large cups of coffee for breakfast…

Scrambled Eggs & Onion with Breadstick and Baked Apple

Scrambled Eggs & Onion with Breadstick and Baked Apple

I had a great lunch today. I made Scrambled Eggs & Onions . Cooked onions come out nice and sweet, and they really add a lot of flavor to scrambled eggs. It was a great lunch, but I’m not sure if it was bulky enough to fill me up. I was hungry a lot earlier today, and I wasn’t sure if I would make it until dinnertime.

Ground Beef & Tomato Mash with Breadstick and Tomato Slices

Ground Beef & Tomato Mash with Breadstick and Tomato Slices

For dinner, I made a very tasty Ground Beef and Tomato Mash . It was good. I decided not to have fruit with my dinner, so I added an extra tomato. It was another great meal!

Lunch:

1 egg + 3 egg whites (118 calories)

132 grams of onion (53 calories)

1/2 c. low sodium fat-free chicken broth (7.5 calories)

Talk about slow losses. lol. I’m still losing, but this week has been crawling very slowly. I’m at a .55 per day loss average. I’m still crawling above the average .5 loss for a woman. Like I mentioned yesterday, I lost more inches this week! As Dory might say “Just keep losing… just keep losing… just keep losing, losing, losing…”

Ground Beef and Onion Hash with Strawberries and Melba Rounds

I made an awesome ground beef and onion hash for lunch today. It was SO good! Sometimes, those experiments work! ha ha

Chinese Chicken Salad with Wasa Cracker

Chinese Chicken Salad with Wasa Cracker

For dinner, my family had Chinese food, so I attempted to make a Sweet ‘n Tangy Chinese Chicken Salad . It was good, but it might be a little too tangy for some people. You might have to adjust the amount of ginger and garlic in this one.

Here’s the breakdown-

Lunch:

100 grams of 96% lean ground beef (130 calories)

156 grams of onion (62 calories)

1/2 cup low sodium fat-free chicken broth (7.5 calories)

I ran across a really good YouTube video today by a lady named Charli . Someone emailed her and asked her why we would choose the HCG diet over eating right and working out at the gym. I have posted that video below.

I would love to address this question.

First of all, some people might not be able to work out. They may not be in good health. They may have heart issues, joint issues, or one of many other health concerns that do not allow them to work out. Don’t judge!

Second, we are not all the same. Many of us do not have very efficient metabolisms. What works for some might not work for others. I have personally been on both sides of the issue. DO NOT assume that we are all fat because we sit around all day and eat tons of ice cream while watching soap operas. Hello! Don’t ASSUME because it makes you look like a fool (to put it nicely).

Throughout the years, I have been on the following diets: The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, Atkins, Slimfast, The California Diet, a low fat diet, Phen-Fen, Ephedra, Weight Watchers… and YES, even working out! I’ve lifted weights, played tennis, jazzercised, stair-step aerobics, treadmill, exercise bike, etc…

I once joined Jenny Craig over 12+ years ago in the mid-90′s and lasted about two weeks. The clinic accused me of cheating. I was furious and never went back.

I used to hate exercising with a passion when I was in my young 20′s, but for the sake of my weight, I dedicated 6 months to working out at home 4-6 days per week. I would alter between cardio and weight training. Along with working out almost daily, I ate a low-fat diet with lots of good fruit and vegetables. I lost 8 pounds in 6 months. I kid you not! It was then that my husband said he has never seen someone work so hard to get nowhere!

A few years later, I found out that I have hypothyroidism. That explained a lot. A weight loss clinic started me on a low calorie diet along with Phen-Fen and thyroid pills. I lost approximately 20 lbs, but I had to go off the diet when I found out that I was pregnant. After that, one of the Phen-Fen pills became illegal because of health issues that people were experiencing.

After I had my daughter, I gave up for a while. I had my 4th child in 1999 along with a tubal ligation. After that, I seemed to start packing on the pounds for no good reason! I started playing tennis in 2001, and I was very overweight at that time… probably around 226 pounds on a 5’3″ frame. A tennis instructor that I had at the time decided to film us and take notes on the video so we could learn from our mistakes. When I came home with the video, I couldn’t bear to see myself. It was awful!

Around late 2002, Stacker 3 was being advertised all over the television. I decided to give it a try. Without changing my eating habits, I went down to 168 lbs and a size 12. I was thrilled. I had probably taken it for about 3 months at that time. When I was in the 168 lb range, it seemed to stop working, so I quit taking it. I think it was then that ephedra became illegal. From 2003 until January 2008, I packed on the weight and went up to 213 lbs. That’s when I decided to join Weight Watchers.

I was on Weight Watchers from 01/08 until 10/08. I had lost almost 37 lbs within that time period. About a month after I started Weight Watchers, I joined a gym and worked out 3-5 days per week. I altered cardio with weight training. Now remember, I started playing tennis in early 2001. I have been playing tennis ever since then. So, with WW, I was working out at the gym AND playing tennis while trying to eat right. It took me 6 months to lose 35.6 pounds. I slowed down at that point because I was getting so tired of calculating points. I went up and down the last 2-1/2 months until I reached 176.6 (36.4 lb loss). After that point, I completely went off Weight Watchers altogether. I was tired of figuring my points on a daily basis. It was such a pain…

Fast forward to 2 years later, and here I am!

In passing, a friend of mine had mentioned that she was about to start the HCG Diet. A mutual friend’s sister had lost approximately 27 pounds in 27 days. I didn’t think much of it. I still felt burned out from dieting at that time, but I googled “hcg diet” and started reading like crazy. I was intrigued. I couldn’t believe the number of positive reviews on this diet. It was amazing! I thought, “what the heck”, and ordered some homeopathic hcg. I was so excited when it came in that I started that day!

So, why is the hcg diet any different? Well, first of all, I have lost weight much faster than anything I have ever tried in my life! Typically, I have lost any cravings for other foods with the exception of the occasional bite of chocolate bark.

Recently, I took a current picture of myself and placed it side by side with my last Weight Watchers picture. In that picture, my WW weight was slightly lower, but my measurements on the HCG diet were better! I look smaller in the HCG picture. I kid you not. Look for yourself !

In the end, you have to decide what works for you. Speaking from my own experience, this is working for me, and I am so excited about it. I am confident that I will make it to my ultimate goal weight! I haven’t been that weight since I was a teenager. I look forward to seeing that day!

Here’s the video that I was talking about. Enjoy!
